Principal

Brian Grove, ASLA, LEED GA, has over 16 years of professional experience in landscape design and construction, including project and program management, contracting, and inspection of construction projects for both the public and private sectors. As a licensed Landscape Architect, Brian is proficient in all aspects of the design phases, bid phase, construction and construction administration.

Brian is licensed in the State of California and earned his bachelor of science degree from California Polytechnic State University in Pomona. He is involved with the San Diego Chapter of ASLA + USBGC and volunteers with several non-profit organizations.

Prior to forming GROVE Landscape Architecture, Brian began his career working in Italy for his professor. After returning to the States, he worked for several design firms in the southern California region with a primary emphasis on private development. In early 2000, Brian spent over 5 years as the Landscape Architect for the City of Oceanside performing duties for both their private development and CIP divisions. Creating, designing, and managing his own CIP and Public Works projects proved to be invaluable experience as he essentially served as a mini developer for the City. With a wide variety of project scopes, the primary focus of his efforts were to beautify the downtown district as he worked closely with the Economic and Redevelopment Departments. In addition, he also designed City parks, developed the Coastal Rail Trail, Pier View Undercrossing, mitigation, reclamation, and wetlands preservation projects, and anything else from storm drain improvements to street lighting. During this time, Brian also worked closely with other agencies such as Caltrans, NCTD, SANDAG, Coastal Commission, Army Core of Engineers, and the State of California. Most recent, Brian served as a senior landscape architect at a private landscape architecture firm in Carlsbad designing award-winning parks for local municipalities.

Brian is a fourth generation Southern California native and currently resides in Carlsbad. He is married to his beautiful wife Joelle of 7 years and has a 4-year-old daughter and 14 month-old son.
