Giving Back

Let’s be honest…even in our horrible economy here in the States, our standard of living is in the top 5% of the world. To put it in perspective, you slept in a warm bed last night, had a warm meal, and most likely a warm bath or shower (with clean water!). The amenities we take for granted everyday are the exact things that most of the world is struggling to provide. This life is not about accumulating more wealth, possessions, or power…contrary to what the media may be selling us. It is about sacrifice and giving…especially to those who have need. While there are other non-profit organizations out there who do humanitarian work, few do it with the efficiency and passion of Samaritan’s Purse and Gospel for Asia. Whenever there’s a natural disaster, Samaritan’s Purse is one of the first to respond (go on…check out their website www.samaritanspurse.org). GFA has a passion for feeding, sheltering, and educating the 10/40 window in Asia (www.gfa.org). Their administrative costs are among the lowest…meaning your donations actually go where you intend them to.

What does this have to do with landscape architecture? Absolutely nothing. It has everything to do with being a human being. Our firm donates a portion of all of our fees to organizations such as these who help other people in need. We have dedicated a page on our site for this for a simple reason…to encourage you….challenge even…to give yourself away.
